Ebay Finds: kochcomics sets

The view outside and inside of Joseph Koch's Brooklyn warehouse (images from yelp.com, 2011 and 2014, respectively). Wall to wall from floor to ceiling comics and stuff. I'm pretty sure they have a loading bay because they buy comics by the palette load.

I first bought sets of comics from kochcomics in the 90s (Back when they advertised in CBG) and rediscovered them on eBay a few years ago. They have pretty much everything under the sun (you know you need some 8-Track tapes), but still have over 3,700 sets of comics: big and small. I'll just list the first ten sets that catch my eye...

FREAK-OUT ON INFINITE EARTHS #1#2 Blackthorne doesn't have a very good reputation, but I love the covers on this parody series. I want to buy them, in fact, just to see who paints that second issue cover!

SCATTERBRAIN #1-#4 Dark Horse humor anthology with Evan Dorkin, Dave Cooper, Jay Stephens, Daniel Torres, and many others.

CREEPSVILLE #1-#5 Another humor comic, this one by Franklin J. Kurtz.

MISSPENT YOUTHS #1-#5 A Brave New Words series by David Lee Ingersoll

DIK SKYCAP & DR. IAN DEFROST #1#2 A Rip Off Press series I've never seen before, by Philip Groves. Holy shit, this is most likely the same person in this profile.

TRUFAN ADVENTURES THEATRE #1 #2 B/W parody of superheroes, I actually remember reading this at the time it came out and not knowing what the fuck to think of it! Good but far from the mainstream I was used to.

3X3 EYES: CURSE OF GESU #1-#5 Dark Horse Manga by Yuzo Takada. Kochcomics has many Manga sets, here's a random one.

FOREVER NOW #1-#3 An unknown-to-me series from the publisher of DELTA TENN and MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E.

SORT OF HOMECOMING #1-#3 Damon Hurd and Pedro Camello series from Alternative Comics (which, amazingly, still posts on twitter). The creative team behind Eisner-nominated MY UNCLE JEFF.

CASANOVA #1 #2 Eurotica by Ricard from Aircel.

(all images taken from kochcomics, except for FOREVER NOW #3 and DIK SKYCAP #1 #2 from GCD. Kochcomics differs from other comics ebayers in that they use actual photos of their comics, rather than stock images.)
