71. WARRIOR WOMEN: SPAIN VOLUME 2 (Fantagraphics Books) Hoopla
Spain Rodriguez has always been one of my favorite classic underground cartoonists, this book's theme definitely plays to his strengths. I love the "Big Bitch" stories which I remember from WEIRDO, the big surprise to me was the Big Bitch Betty Page team-up story from WEIRD SMUT #3. Also new to me, and a great deal of fun, were the "Granny McGurk" stories from THRASHER COMICS. Most impressive were the science fiction stories (some with a bit of
Guy Peellaert influence, imho): "Mara Mistress of the Void" "Mutiny on Stellar Craft Nimbus 3" and two "Sangrella" stories from ZAP.
