Beyond the LCS: Stardust on Zoop

cover by Mike Allred

Comic book writer and novelist Van Jensen is currently running a campaign, on our favorite platform Zoop, to produce a hardcover tribute album to Golden Age cult character Stardust.

I'm more than a little dubious at projects centered around new creators reviving old characters, but Van Jensen has really assembled a lineup that goes all in on this (and, I say this with all due respect) batshit crazy character. The campaign ends in two weeks, so take a look and see if you're as impressed as I am by Van Jensen and his bugfuck cohorts.

The Roll Call:
More:
Mike Powell (story for Shaky Kane)
Anthony Marques

There's bits and pieces of this craziness floating around twitter and beyond. Here's some links to some previews:

The most interesting contributor to this anthology is Ian Hanks, grandson of Stardust creator Fletcher Hanks. Ian is a fine artist and contributes his own Stardust story. Van Jensen is quoted about Ian's contribution: "Ian has crafted a deeply thoughtful and also challenging story that both honors his grandfather and reflects on his failures as a parent and human."
Comic Book + is a public domain comics website that features free digital versions of FANTASTIC COMICS. I highly recommend this site. Sample image below from their file of FANTASTIC COMICS #1:
The Fantagraphics Books hardcover edition of the complete Fletcher Hanks comics is out of stock:
It is available digitally from the usual sources, although there is no place I would recommend buying a physical copy from. Check your library or favorite local used bookstore.
